Armas de Guerra was founded in 1879 and is one of the oldest wineries in Spain. Armas de Guerra translates to ‘Weapons of War’ and is named after their yearly battle for maintenence of healthy vineyards. They focus on indigenous grape varieties of the region and show the utmost respect for the fruit, utilising the most natural and sustainable vineyard management possible. Armas de Guerra have stuck with tradition and produce only indigenous varietals, to remain in keeping with the style of the Bierzo region.
