On the banks of lake Thau, just outside Mèze, lies the Belle Mare estate. The vineyard covers 55 hectares and is planted with mostly traditional Languedoc varietals such as Picpoul, Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah but also has Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Founded by a builder with a passion for wine, the entire team at Belle Mare have equal passion and are keen for everyone to share their enthusiasm for the local area and its wine culture. The winemaker is intent on defending their ‘terroir’ and the environment their grapes grow in and is always as respectful as possible of their natural surroundings when it comes to their farming techniques. "Live to the rhythm of the vineyard to achieve the best possible yield in the most natural manner" is the motto of the estate.
