Tasting Note

"A superb Burgundy, really delicate fresh red berries with hints of Burgundian funk and a lovely brightness throughout."

Producer

The youthful Thierry Pillot is a breath of fresh air. The wines of his father were good, in no small measure due to the quality of his holdings, but Thierry's wines are going from strength to strength with every passing vintage despite his cult status. The style and weight of his wines occupy a territory midway perhaps between the style of Oliver Lamy and Gagnard-Delagrange. With clean lines, freshness and a certain approachability, they reflect Thierry's likeable character. There is a purity and precision here that many of the better known Chassagne domaines cannot match. Thierry also has a négociant business under his innovative Thierry Pillot label where he assiduously buys grapes from a few trusted neighbours.
