Tasting Note

Brilliant, concentrated nose full of blackcurrant alongside some amazing toastiness. This wine really delivers on the palate with an incredibly complex, juicy and concentrated front end. What makes it so amazing though, is how it holds and delivers that epic concentration and intensity the whole way through the palate, forcing you back for more. The finish is luscious, saline and fresh with this delicious chewy, rich texture and buttery element.

Alexis is the 6th generation of Champagne Xavier Leconte but has chosen to create a stunning side brand, Champagne Alexis. The wines jumped out at us for their complexity, texture and depth. He works mainly with Meunier from Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières and, importantly, some epic Pinot Noir in Ay – where he creates his stunning cuvée: Aegius.
