Chateau Laborde 2010 75cl
Tasting Note: "A staggeringly good mature Bordeaux from the stellar 2010 vintage. Showing developed fruit flavours, cassis, damson and baked brambles, it then goes onto a wonderful soft and approachable palate with evolved cherry and cassis, then some cocoa and finally a subtle, sweet nutmeg spice."
Producer: Château Laborde, owned by Catherine Blasco, extends over 15 hectares of land adjacent to Saint-Estèphe appellation (sharing the characteristics of this AOC). The vineyard is located at an altitude of 15 metres, in the town of Cissac. The vineyard enjoys a temperate, oceanic climate, further accentuated by the nearby estuary. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines grow on a terroir dominated by gravel and clay-gravel, on the limestone shelf of Saint-Estèphe. Château Laborde produces wines which are structured and concentrated in style, with an authentic Saint-Estèphe accent. The winery is located in one of the wings of Château Hanteillan.
