Bruno Sourdais Chinon Les Cornuelles 1996 75cl

£39.95

Tasting Note

Cabernet Franc with a couple of decades ageing is bound to be brilliant and this doesn't disappoint! Dusty, earthy and mature, this is a super wine with roast pork.

Producer

Le Logis de la Bouchardière dates from 1850. The current incumbent is Bruno Sourdais who represents the 6th generation on the property. Bruno joined his late father, Serge, in 1990, taking full control from the 2008 vintage. Three-quarters of the domaine's 55 hectares are located on the slopes and plateau above the commune of Cravant. Les Cornuelles Vieilles Vignes is from 2.5 hectares on a south-facing slope. The vines here were planted in two separate stages. The youngest were established by Bruno's grandfather over 60 years ago, with the oldest vines well-over 100 years old.
