Tasting Note

A wonderful Bordeaux that you can easily put away for a decade and then still have a decade to drink it. A stellar year and a superb wine. If you haven't tried this producer, do, as it will reward you time and time again.

Producer

Vieux Château Gaubert has 40 hectares of vines at Portets in the heart of the Graves appellation. The low-yielding old vines produce a rich, concentrated, age-worthy wine seasoned with a judicious dose of new oak. Château Civrac-Lagrange, in Pessac-Léognan, was bought by Dominique Haverlan in 2004. Vinification is in stainless steel vats followed by 12 months maturation in 30% new oak barrels.
