"Rose petals, white pepper, lychee and a little lime coming off the nose. This is a lovely aromatic Gewurz which goes beautifully with Thai food."
Christophe has made his estate fully biodynamic and they are making very fine wines. Some such as Muscat and Riesling are bone dry! They own and lease some 20 hectares of great vineyards around Hunawihr and Ribeauvillé and have now over two hectares of the Grand Cru Rosacker. They also own parcels in the Grands Crus Mandelberg and Osterberg and more in the excellent ‘lieu dit’ Muhlforst. The “Gyotaku” created for the Japanese and Asian market has been a great success. A blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewürztraminer.
