La Conreria d’Scala Dei was founded in 1997 by three friends, a priest, a teacher and a winemaker, the bodega is named after the 12th century Cartoixa d'Escaladei, a Carthusian Monastery now in ruins located in the nearby village of Scala Dei –which translates as the Ladder of God. Talented and energetic Jordi Vila, winemaker and the driving force behind the project, fell in love with Priorat while studying viticulture and oenology in nearby Falset. They own and lease about 25 ha, the majority of them over 30 years old with some vineyards up to 80 years old.

Established in 1942 by Cecilio Vincent, Cellar Cecilio is located in the village of Gratallops and was the first winery registed in the DOQ. The a family estate is now under the stewardship of August Vincent, Cecilio’s son, who carefully manages their four vineyard sites in Gratallops covering 9 ha.
