Tasting Note

Delicious, lively nose matched with a fullness and rounded flavour on the lengthy palate. A very very tasty wine, ideal with mushroom risotto.

Producer

The winery was inaugurated in 2000, located below the Barolo vineyards. They designed the winery in a way that it could fully integrate into the landscape, whilst also choosing eco-compatible signs and materials in the building. Not only does the design of the winery help to blend in with the landscape around them but it is also functional to production requirements with minimal energy consumption.

The company involves 180 winegrowers who cultivate 300 hectares of vineyard. The people that are involved all believe in a shared concept of quality, each having a responsability that is an integral part of the final result.

Vite Colte (and all of the winegrowers working within it) share one goal: an absolute and constant quality standard, being the result of agronomic choices that are aimed at sustainability and selective vineyard management focused on achieving perfectly ripe fruit.

The knowledge that is cultivated into the wines comes from the interaction between different worlds and generations: combining knowledge, experience, tradition and the typically Piedmontese passion for meticulous work, with research and scientific knowledge.

Sustainability has always been at the forefront of Vite Colte's philosophy. In the 1980s they decided to switch to more sustainable forms of vineyard management and integrated production which was certified in compliance with the SQNPI standard in 2014. From 2021, the vine-wine supply chain has been able to be certified in compliance with the new standard of the sustainability certification system of the wine supply chain and Vite Colte aims to achieve this over the next 3 years.

With this in mind, the vineyards of Vite COlte are managed in compliance with the principles of integrated defence, some of them being managed organically (with ICEA certification) and the rest undergoing conversion to organic methods.
