The palate is full, firm tannin but very very silky. There are dark, savoury notes, green pepper, loads of pencil lead and bitter chocolate. There is still fruit there, and with time in a decanter, the big dark berries are revealed. This is a superb bottle of wine and strangely drinking well now, but will only improve for the next... oh.... thirty years! Oh crikey... They are very capable. A further 12 hectares of superb land were purchased to add to the 55 hectares. The average age of the vines is well over 40 years.
