In 1980, Anne Marie, the youngest of the Petit daughters, gave up her pharmacy studies to come back to the family property. A year later, she married Jean Guy Todeschini, a master stone mason by trade, and a year later the first of their two sons, Karl, was born with his younger brother, Yann, a couple of years later,.
Between 1989 to 1998, they completely transformed the vineyards at Mangot (re-structuring, re-planting, terracing and drainage works) and finally obtained the Grand Cru status for the estate’s 34 hectares.
After two decades working in the wine trade, in 2001 it was the turn of all the buildings to be modernised and Jean Guy got to go back to being a stone mason!
Now with the sons running the estate, and its sister estate Chateau La Brande in Castillon, they operate organically and are not afraid to experiment, carefully with their estate wines, but with a bit more Italian flair with their other wines. Their rosé is very light and not the usual Bordeaux style, and their Todeschini wines are very different, but equally delicious, beasts!
