Piedmont
The land of Barolo.... and so many other things! Whilst Nebbiolo based wines may be king, look to Dolcetto and Barbera as other red grapes, and if white is more your thing, Gavi and Roero Arneis are sublime. Do look at other parts of Piedmont if Barolo is a bit pricey for you, the regions in the northern part of this region offer brilliant Nebbiolo but at a more affordable price.
