Crossbill Gin

Some may question the connection between a bird and gin but not these quirky gin producers! The name ‘crossbill’ comes from the Scottish Crossbill which can only be found in the Caledonian pine forests, much like the juniper used in their gin.

Scottish juniper used to be exported to Holland to produce Jenever, the forerunner of Gin, but for the past 200 years there has been a decrease in the amount of juniper planted in Scotland.  Crossbill is working with the Forestry Commission to increase planting, and is the only gin to use solely Scottish sourced juniper.
