Tasting Note

A grown up, serious profile that still manages to be bright and vivacious at the same time. Bramble fruits picked straight from the bush mingle with an almost inky, liquorice undertone and an ever so pretty lavender note keeps that brightness ever present. Like the white this has that same minerality that provides amazing structure from the 90 year old vines.

Producer

Making incredibly good-value table wines from some of the oldest vines in the Douro Valley, Nuno Vaz and António Ferreira are part of a new wave of Portuguese winemakers prepared to put quality before quantity and pay a sustainable price to the old growers who nurture the vines.
