Tasting Note: The Silex vineyard was purchased in 1985 and is well known for producing intensely mineral wines. After all, Silex means flint, which is found in abundance around St-Andelain, where the domaine is based. The 2002 vintage of the Silex was recently tasted in 2020 by Stephen Brook and was declared a “wine legend”, giving us an idea how age-worthy these wines can be! The second best sauvignon blanc in the world!

Producer: Didier Dagueneau did not play by anyones rules! Making wine in Pouilly Fume, he shunned tradition and made wines his way aiming to make the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world. Sadly he died in a plane crash in 2008, and his children now run the Domaine, with son Benjamin making the wines.
