Domaine Pichard Cuvee Aime Madiran 2010 75cl
Tasting Note
Oh, such a fabulous mature Madiran. Rich, round and with sweet dark berry aromas. The palate has dark cocoa and liquorice, firm and powerful with a grippy tannin. Long, earthy and with years to come!
Producer
Back in 1955, this domaine was discovered by Auguste Vigneau who cultivated it and started making wine. The domaine remained in his family until 2004 when his nephew Rene Tachouere, who was by that point in charge, decided to retire and after failing to pass it onto his son, sold up to Jean Sentilles and his English Francophile brother in law, the fantastically named, Rod Cork. In the years since, these two gentlemen have done amazing work, creating three distinct Madiran wines that have the ability to age for decades.
