With a history going back to 1890 when the Nel family bought the property, it really was in the 1980s that the transformation to what the company is now started. Planting Portuguese grape varieties, De Krans was the first to make a Touriga Nacional table wine, the first to make a pink port style wine and have focused on bringing outstanding Portuguese grape variety wines to the market.
