Domaine Chofflet-Valdenaire

Denis Valdenaire is an outdoorsman.  A former skiing instructor, he loves his sports. So, although he has a gentle face, a quiet voice and is naturally patient, he expresses himself easily and confidently.  He took over the family estate (from his father-in-law) in 2000, having worked alongside him since 1987.

Today, he and his wife Edith, run the domaine, in a magnificent setting in Russilly, laid out like an amphitheatre and enjoying a beneficial micro-climate.

After his professional training in Beaune, Denis Valdenaire has been refining his wine growing skills and he is always interested in harnessing the knowledge of experts, particularly when this relates to his vineyard soils.

Believing in the benefits of working together, he belongs to a group which carries out studies and experiments on the local terroir, and which is currently looking into ways of reducing the use of phytosanitary products.
