Domaine Fichet
MACONNAIS, BURGUNDY, FRANCE
Domaine Fichet is a producer near the village of Igé in the hamlet of Le Martoret. The domaine was started in 1976 when Francis Fichet withdrew from the local cooperative. With 11 hectares of vineyards, three quarters of which were red grapes, he decided to focus on quality.
Joined by his eldest son Pierre-Yves in 1988 and his younger brother Olivier two years later, the domaine has grown to 26 hectares, sixteen of which are Chardonnay. They also built a new store and winery in 2006 and constantly offer great value whites which always over perform. The Fichet brothers, who are now in charge of the company, focus on individual vineyards rather than simply making Bourgogne Blanc, and are determined to get their winery held in the same regard as some of the more famous names in Burgundy.
