Valdespino

JEREZ, SPAIN

With a history that can be dated back at least six centuries, Valdespino is one of the oldest and most unique sherry producers. They own 750 ha of their own vineyards and, therefore, are able to control the wine from grape to glass. Unlike many sherry producers, Valdespino focuses on terroir and its expression in their wines; they create one of the few single vineyard sherries that can be found. 

The winemaker at Valdespino, Eduardo Ojeda, is currently in the enviable position of working with some of the oldest soleras within Jerez. No trip to Jerez would be complete without gazing out over the cellar in Valdespino's bodega; it holds 25,500 barrels! Through his respect for tradition and terroir, Ojeda produces some of the most intense and luxurious sherries available.
