Wei Chi Wine

LAKE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, USA

Erin Pooley was born and raised in Sydney and started making wine in 2007. She eventually relocated to California and became known as one of the new winemakers to watch out for. She found a small block of Semillon in Lake County and inspired by the Hunter Valley Semillons from back home, she set out to recreate this stateside.

Her vineyard is north of Napa County and east of Mendocino Countyand has warm days and very cold nights, making it perfect for Semillon. Her first vintage is hand harvested, foot crushed, native yeast fermented and then put into old oak, resulting in a rich, textured, low alcohol wine.
