Chateau Canon is one of the most celebrated estates in Bordeaux’s right bank, and in recent years has led the revolution in style from blockbuster, powerful Merlot, to refreshing, red-fruited, limestone-flecked expressions of their part of the hallowed plateau of Saint-Emilion. Canon are regularly the firstin the area to pick, and the winemaking has gone from strength to strength, as has the critical acclaim. The Wertheimer brothers of luxury brand Chanel have been owners since 1996, and the wines themselves have a natural silky and aromatic quality.
