Chateau Haut-Beausejour 2016 75cl

£29.95

Tasting Note: “Quite a savory and light wine for St.-Estephe, this is rather easy to enjoy now. Don’t worry though — there are some of the typical dry tannins for this appellation on the finish. Drink or hold.” 91 points Antonio Galloni

Producer: In 1992, Champagne Louis Roederer discovered two properties in the heart of Saint- Estèphe – Château Picard and Château Beauséjour – both of which received Cru Bourgeois status in 1932. Together, the pair formed an estate of 27 hectares of vineyards, which was renamed Château Haut-Beauséjour. Champagne Louis Roederer drew up a quality charter for Château Haut-Beauséjour, encompassing vine size, debudding, green harvesting, a return to manual harvesting and double grape selection. They sold off parcels of vineyards they felt couldn’t meet their quality expectations in order to enhance the wines they were determined to make. In 1993, the cellars and cuverie were entirely renovated with top-of-the-range equipment installed at the Château.
