Chateau de Montifaud Heritage Louis Vallet 50 Year Old 70cl

£199.95

Tasting Note

"An intense rich aroma of dried apricots and marzipan with a very smooth palate, gentle stone fruit and some sandlewood. Cognac producers use the term 'rancio', which is a flavour the emerges from cognac in barrel over 10 years of age and starts off as vanilla and nuts, goes through curry, ginger, chocolate and onto a woody, nutmeg, tobacco element. This Cognac is certainly in the latter part of the rancio flavour profile!"

Producer

Château Montifaud is very much a family enterprise with Michel and Catherine Vallet, their son Laurent and his wife Elodie all involved. This is lovely unadulterated pure, fine, perfumed cognac. A family domaine and distillery. 125 hectares of vineyard in the heart of the Archiac where the Grande and Petite Champagne meet, much sought after by the larger Houses.
