A wonderful Provence pink - gentle fruit flavours of strawberry and raspberry and a lovely gentle red apple as well. A stunning wine.

Producer

Located in the village of Le Luc en Provence, Chateau La Mascaronne was purchased by Michel Reybier (also the owner of Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estephe, DOmaine Imperial Tokaj-Hetszolo and La Reserve hotels in numerous cities) in 2020. Having been present in Provence for over 15 years, and having grown so attached to the region, its climate and the quality of life that it offers, it seemed only natural to him to acquire this estate.

At La Mascaronne, their commitment to respecting the environment is a prerequisite to everything that they do. Their wines are certified Agriculture Biologique since 2016 and the estate is home to a wide range of biodiversity, driving them to tend to not only the vines and soils with great care but also to pay attention to their olive trees, centuries-old oak trees and their stone-walled terraces.

They adopted sustainable farming methods in 1999, implying a deep respect for the environment and the terroir at all levels, allowing the guarantee of longevity of the site and its surroundings.

Located on a hillside at the highest point of the estate, the vineyard is mostly composed of clay-limestone soils. The winegrowing team then adapts its selection of grape varieties to the specifications of each plot, having conducted a deep analysis of the soils and subsoils. They also enjoy a unique microclimate, with nighttime temperatures being consistantly several degrees cooler than along the shore, and the orientation of the vineyard bringing natural ventilation favouring the healthy development of the grapes and minimising the use of phytosanitary treatments.

La Mascaronne continues to use the ancestral technique of building terraces using the stones that abound throughout the region, as is traditional in Provence.
