Tasting note: On the nose, scents of mixed berries turn softly into herbal notes, such as mauve, thyme and juniper all intertwined to mineral sensations. The palate feels perfectly balanced tannins and a balsamic ending.
Producer: Etna itself flows in the lymph of the Cottanera vineyards. The vineyards grow over lava stone, 700 mts above the sea, on the northern slope of the volcano. The company is in Castiglione di Sicilia, near Catania. The name of the company comes from an ancient village that runs alongside the family vineyards, along the banks of the river Alcantara. Cottanera is led by the brother Enzo, and the children of the co-founder: Mariangela, Francesco and Emanuele.
