Tasting Note

The 2020 Carignane is produced from a 113-year-old, single vineyard block. On the nose, aromas of clove lead into dark cherry and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, flavors of blackberry and black pepper. The finish is smooth with balanced tannins.

Producer

The Felten family settled in Lodi to grow watermelons. Thank goodness they moved to grapes, at first selling to co-ops and private wineries. Now Steve and Lori Felten, a fifth generation of the family, continue to cultivate old vine zins and make superb wines from these stunning vineyards.
