Latta Wild West Red 2021 75cl

£28.95 GBP

Tasting Note

The late, great Sean Thackrey made a brilliant wine called Pleiades - a mix of many different grapes, many different vintages, all put together and bottled. And while the wine varied in style every edition (he didn't do vintages), the quality and fun of the wine never varied. It was, and remains, one of my favourite wines.

This joins it - a "liquorice allsorts" of grapes, mixed together (albeit from one vintage) and bottled - all with the same fun and joy of the Pleiades. A wine that just grabs you by the collar and says "DRINK ME".

Producer

Owen Latta did his first harvest with his father at the age of fifteen at his parent's winery, Eastern Peak. Now he is in charge of that and also Latta Wines - his personal project of innovation and expression of fun. The wines are very hands off winemaking, and are outstanding quality, showing that Owen is one of the finest (and fun-est) young winemakers.
