Producer: Quinta do Silval has been a well known port producer since the 1800’s. The Estate has 22 hectares of vineyards spread across the famous parishes of Vale de Mendiz and Roncão, about 6 Km from Vila do Pinhão, all A-rated, the highest possible vineyard classifi- cation in the Douro Demarcated Region. The production of Port Wine by Quinta do Silval is centuries old, as is its storage in wine-cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, from where they are exported. Wine used to be carried on the typical Rabelo boats down the river from Vila do Pinhão to the wine-cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia
