Remy Lequeux-Mercier 2008 75cl
Wine is due mid June 2025
Tasting Note
One of a range of older vintage wines from Remy that benefits from 9+ years on lees and then subsequent bottle ageing. The vintage dominates the wine here. It's super bright with a lovely dash of stewed fruit, followed by a mid palate that has plenty of tension and saline texture. The finish goes on and on with a lift of acidity brightening up the end palate. A very impressive wine from a great vintage that will easily live another 10 years.
Producer
Remy has taken over his family maison and injected a new and vibrant lease of life to these already lovely wines. Based in the village of Passy-sur-Marne he now makes two distinct styles. His Non Vintage cuvée, which is a playful and fruity wine that flirts nicely with oxidation and his single variety wines, which are oak vinified, serious and deep. They are all gorgeous with a sensational level of fruit and texture.
