This wine is delicious. I tried it today, it is as old as I am and it is outstanding. It has aged FAR better than I have, is much ore elegant than I could ever hope to be and it is a wine that any wine lover should want to try. It won a trophy at the IWC and I could go on forever about how great it is. There is, however, a problem.
It is one hundred and sixty quid per HALF bottle.
I'd love to stock it, but I would buy in six bottles and I guarantee I'd still have six bottles in a year, but I really wanted to tell you about this glorious Madeira.
It has aromas of polished wood, cinnamon, clove, coconut, honey... it just keeps evolving new flavours. The palate is so soft, round with a drying, whisky like flavour emerging with cashew nuts, burnt sugar and leather. It is the best wine I've tried in a good while....
