The Paneretta castle is situated in Chianti Classico and was built around an ancient sighting tower, making this an important fortress. The estate has over 300 hectares (mainly woodland) and started with the Vettori family. The last Vettori heir, Maddalena, married Ludovico Capponi in 1577 and there are records of the estate producing wine from 1596. A century later, Cassandra Capponi married into the Strozzi family, and the estate remained in that family's hands until 1984 when the Albisetti family took over.
This Chianti has a deep cherry aromas and light notes of anise, before the palate is wonderfully balanced with fresh acidity but also a warming berry flavour and a crisp finish.
