Dosnon Champagne
COTE DE BARS, CHAMPAGNE, FRANCE
Outstanding is a word I use too often, and it is when you try wines like these that you realise that you should be careful as to which wines you use it for, because these Champagnes are exactly that. Their first release was from the 2007 vintage, and they immediately became wines that those in the know wanted.
Davy Dosnon trained in Burgundy and then went home to Champagne and worked for Moutard and Serge Methieu. He inherited two hectares of vines and then leased another five, and matures his wines in oak barrels - taking his inspiration from his training in Burgundy. With only 50,000 bottles produced every year, he is a true small scale producer.
