One of the big problems for all aspiring winemakers in the old world is that unless you inherit a vineyard (or marry strategically) then vineyards are either very expensive or just simply not for sale.

David Moret wasn’t going to let this get in his way. After graduating with a degree in winemaking he went on to sell winery equiptment to vignerons and developed friendships with growers in the Cote de Beaune.   He bought his first barrels in the late 1990s and established Moret-Nomine in 2000.  Since then he has bought grapes from the best growers which he then makes into wine in his cellar.
