Domaine de la Croix Arpin

CHATEAUGAY, COTES D'AUVERGNE

Pierre Goigoux's grandfather was not from Auvergne, but fell for a local girl whose family owned a single hectare of vines. They made wine for their own family but not commercially, and so their two sons didn't think of doing it for a living and did what most people in the area do - work for tyre company Michelin. 

During the 1989 harvest, Pierre found his calling and decided he wanted to make wine. By 1991 he was a winemaker with five hectares of vines and is now one of the most significant grower producers in the Cotes d'Auvergne.
