Equipo Navazos
SHERRY, SPAIN
In 2005 a group of sherry lovers found a stash of 65 butts of old Amontillado that had been sitting around for 20 years. This group included Jesus Barquin (food & drink critic) and Eduardo Ojeda (director of Grupo Estevez, owners of Valdespino and the La Guita sherry brand), so they knew a bit about sherry and rescued these old wines.
They chose the name "Equipo Navazos" (Team Navazos) for this new venture and their first releases caused quite a stir in the sherry world for their quality. Since then, their limited edition bottlings have gained a loyal group of fans. If sherry is your thing, you have to try some of these outstanding wines.
