I love the border areas of Europe - they are a wonderful merging of nations and each have their own identity. The Alto Adige is such a region, hard up against Austria but within Italy. This co-op was founded in 1900 and they now have over 550 growers, spread over seventeen different vineyards, making exquisite wines - part Austrian influenced, part Italian.
