Forchir
FRIULI, ITALY
Although the Forchir Estate is in its fourth generation, it was one of the first wineries in Friuli. The current winemaker, Gianfranco Bianchini, takes a lot of pride in his native region and treats with land with the respect it deserves. Bianchini seeks to make every wine, "an expression of that unique interaction between land, microclimate and vine, which leaves no doubt as to where it comes from: Friuli." They have just completed a stunning, state-of-the-art winery that is completely carbon neutral; geothermal boilers and photovoltaic installations provide enough energy to make the Forchir winery self-sufficient.
