Nicola Ferrari is the winemaker at the most prestigious Valpolicella producer that there is, and it is not this one. He was 26 years old when he started working at Giuseppe Quintarelli's winery, and later, with his wife Laura, took over Monte Santoccio.
Monte Santoccio owns all its own vineyards and vinifies around 18,000 kilos of grapes from its 3 hectares. This produces aroudn 10,000 bottles of his table wine and Ripasso, and only 400 bottles of Amarone.
"A profound Ripasso. Anyone tasting this stunning, bold damson and wild-cherry stacked ripasso made from grapes refermented on Amarone or Recioto grape skins, will be in for a treat." Jamie Goode
