Pertois Lebrun Le Fond du Bateau No 12 75cl

£74.95

Tasting Note

Pure Chardonnay from the brilliant 2012 vintage, 25% oak vinified with 1g/ltr. This is spot on! Warm fudgey nose full of grass, chalk and a complex chewy note. The first sip gives all of that and then this lovely crisp depth. This is brilliantly done with a central explosion on the palate. It clearly needs time but there is already so much here – heather honey and this unique mid-palate grip; superb texture with this delightful chalky, slightly creamy mid to late. What a wine!

Producer

The house dates back to the early 20th Century but has been given a new lease of life with the introduction of Clemente and Antoine in the last decade or so. They work with 44 plots in Cramant, Mesnil, Chouilly, Oiry and Oger, but have key plots in the fabulous single vineyards of Chetillons and Mont Aigu among others. Real terroir focused Champagne.
