Founded by the Silvia Family in 2003, the purpose of Poppy is to focus their passion for the land they have tended for 45 years into a family wine. They want their wines to be elegant and approachable, and due to the more moderate climate, this is easier than in other parts of California.
Their vineyard management is meticulous, and they irrigate their vines with an 'AquaCheck' system which monitors the soil moisture at root level, allowing them to limit the water the vines get and encourage better quality grapes.
