My chum Tom Davidson and his friend Byam Trotter recently founded Super Meals. Using Byam's industrial kitchen where he usually makes his delicious chutneys, they are making ready meals that simultaneously support those in need.
When you order, you will have the option to donate meals which are then supplied to local charities and food banks. They will also donate one additional meal for every three they sell.
To help them, we're going to pair a wine with each dish and for every 12 bottles we sell we'll donate the retail price of one bottle to Super Meals to pay for more meals to be provided to vulnerable families.
This week's dishes are:
Vegetable Tagine The Vegetable tagine needs something simple, tasty and with a freshness and Soave, made from the Garganega grape, will work wonderfully. Apples, mandarins and white flower aromatics with a crisper finish will pair perfectly.
Boeuf Bourguignon It has to be Pinot Noir with this, but instead of Burgundy, I'm picking a lovely fruitier style. Le Fou from the Languedoc is full of cherry and raspberry flavours, a little bit of spice on the end which will complement the dish really well.
