"The most Valdiguie we've ever put into Monkey Jacket at 65%. The remaining volume is biodynamic Petite Sirah, old vine Carignan, and a red field. The brightest, most youthful Monkey Jacket we've ever made. The nose is raspberry, bramble, and sapid, white strawberries. The palate is high acid and clean with a crunchy, rhubarb finish."

Launching Cruse Wine Co in 2013, Michael Cruse came to wine through his interest in science, he prefers off-beat grapes such as Valdiguie, Tannat, Carignane and St Laurent rather than the usual Cabernet and Merlot, but he still makes 'unabashadly Califonian' wines.
