Producer

Château Bouscassé is the original home of Alain Brumont. The soil here is different from Montus, being clay, limestone and grès, a limestone rock. The vines – made up of 70% Tannat, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc – are 60-85 years old. Château Bouscassé is made up of 50% Tannat, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc, picked by hand, destemmed, with a cuvaison of 4 weeks then aged in one or two year old barrels for around 12 months. Vieilles Vignes is 100% Tannat, totally destemmed, 6 week cuvaison, then aged in 100% new oak barrels and bottled with no fining or filtration.

Jardins de Bouscassé Blanc offers super value and is delicious! Petit Courbu and a little Petit Manseng. There is a brisk pre-fermentation maceration followed by cool fermentation in stainless steel.
